Definitely difference in quality between I30 and I30T

My mom has a 2000 I30. I have a 2001 I30T.

My car doesn't feel as solid as the I30. Two variables at work maybe, either the difference in year, or the difference in the "T." I think the I30T just isn't as well built.

Example is, when I close the door, the I30 makes a solid, thumping sound, very soothing to hear. Mine (the I30T) doesn't. Mine has the annoying messed up rattling subwoofer... the I30 doesn't. The I30T has a crappy firm suspension, the I30 is nice and smooth and luxurious. Oh, and the I30 doesn't have as bad rear window noise as the I30T.

To me it seems like the I30T build quality isn't on par with the 2000's, or the with the I30's in general (depending on which way you want to look at it).

The only reason why I wanted the I30T was cuz of the xenon lights, spoiler, steering wheel controls, and compass... ah, really should have gone for one with the navigation screen.

still a good car, just need to take care of it and should last a long time.

They are the same car... The "t" is just the more sporty of the 2 and usually comes with more options standard. The "t" does have stiffer struts and springs as part of this sport package, and that is why the stardard I30 suspension feels more soft.

As far as your other issues, your car being a "t" has nothing to do with the differences.
