One piece conversion

I know that this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find a good source, could someone help me out with the wiring for the H4 bulbs in the one piece Cefiro headlights, I think I understand what is high and low on the vehicle, but my H4 harness has 3 black wires and I'm not sure what should be connected to what.

Since your H4 wires are all the same color I can't help you out there. All I can tell you is what the stock wires correspond to.

Left.
Green/yellow is low
yellow is high
Black is ground

Right
Light green/black is high
Blue/Black is low
Black is ground

okay, I've got the headlights figured out now... the other problem is the turn signals and the city lights, Any one else who's installed the cefiro headlights have any good suggestions for how to do the wiring?

The stock turn signals will work. You just have to modify the harness a bit. A good analogy is trying to fit a square peg into a circle hole. The "square" just has to be cut a bit to fit. IIRC, one of the nubs on the stock harness has to be removed for it to plug in. Just take a close look at it you will see what I mean. I used an exacto knife to shape mine.

As for the city lights, did your headlights come with the the light and harness? Some do and some don't. Mine did, so I just had to cut off the harness to give me loose wires. Then cut off the stock corner light harness to give me loose wires then splice them together.

If yours did not come with the bulb and harness for the city light then I can't really help you. I don't even have mine connected anymore...doesn't really matter.

The "city lights" are the tiny lights that came from the turnsignal piece (not the actual turn signal itself), right? If so, I just left mine dangling. I was unaware that there was a connector that can be spliced into it in order to use that secondary small light that you can see inside the cefiro housing (if that is what it goes too). Any clarification would help.

Yeah those little secondary lights are the city lights. I don't even know what they're supposed to do but I somehow have mine connected.

If the city lights aren't just for show, it may have something to do with overseas driving etiquette. When I was in Japan, drivers stopped at an intersection would sometimes turn off their headlights since there were no dividers to block oncoming light. Perhaps the city light is to provide additional visibilty of the car with it's headlights off.

When I connected mine, I took the entire stock harness (which included the power connector, turn signal socket (1156?), and a 194 socket), cut off the 194 and replaced it with the one included with the housings from Liuspeed. The stock turn signal socket fit fine. I'll look for my picture of the new 194 socket after work, so you know what to look for.
They look nice, but since it's illegal to drive in CA with just parking lights (at any time of day) I dont know what they are good for.

Just curious, did anyone else who did this mod get the odd side effect of their highbeam indicator light always being dimmly lit when the headlights are on?

You have them wired wrong. The high and low beam wires are switched. The lights will still work that way, but you will see the diff when you switch them back the correct way

ah, okay, I wasn't sure, tell me though, does it make a huge difference if you sodder or use crimps, provided you waterproof your crimp connections?

It's more a temporary fix, as I plan on replacing the relays and wiring harness from the relay box onward some day when I have the time to do it

So there is an actual connector that can be spliced onto the city light wires once you cut of the stock bulb?

If so, that connector can now be plugged into the smaller connector on the one piece headlight, and that will allow use of that small little blub that you can see in the housing?

When I did this mod, I used all three bulbs in the Cefiro Headlights. If I remember correctly, the factory headlights have three bulbs as well. (Turn signal bulb, running light bulb, and headlight bulb.)

I think I had to cut the old running light harness off and connect the new one that was included with my lights from Paradox-Systems. I had to cut off the headlight harness and connect the new one, and then I modified the hole in the Cefiro headlight for the factory turn signal harness by melting a new notch into the hole so my stock harness would fit in snugg. All three harnesses were included in my Cefiro headlights including bot the turn signal bulb and running light bulbs (called city light bulb) on the Cefiros.

I hope this helped?

The original harness is obviously on the right. The city light/194 harness came with the housings from liuspeed (http://www.liuspeedtuning.com). Just swapped the 194 harnesses and it fit fine.

Thanks a lot guys. I know exactly what is going on now. I will try to get my hands on some connectors that fit the Cefiro city light connection on the housing. Thanks again.

Well... odd, but still seem to have a problem with the high beam indicator, it doesn't seem that any of the wires are switched, I've checked and double checked, but while the low beams are on, my high beam indicator is lit, not like when high beams are on, however, the indicator is lit very dimmly, I'm just not sure what else could be causing this, any ideas?

I know you've checked, but that is definately what happens if you have some wires crossed. What I did when installing just in case was I used quick disconnect connectors so that if I wired the headlights wrong I could just simply unplug the connectors and switch them. When I first wired up my lights I had the same problem as you. I just switched a couple of connectors and got them working correctly. If you have some of these type of connectors lying around, use them and maybe try different combos because I got a dimly lit Hi-Beam light when they were wired wrong.

i30ds: no, not expensive at all. They were about $170 I believe per pair. I was just saying that I love mine! lol

Have you done this mod yet? If not, I highly recommend it. Simple and effective!

I already have the lights. I have had them in for about 2.5 years now. What I am talking about is the connectors for the city lights. Mine came with connectors for the main light but not for the city light.

i30d's: That's weird. When I ordered mine I received all three connectors and all three light bulbs. Maybe you can get the city lights from Paradox? Might want to give them a call or email and see if they can help you.
