aftermarket shocks for 2004 I35

Just got a close-out deal on a 2004 I35. I loved my 99 Maxima, so this seemed like a logical step up. However, the I35 suspension is way too soft. Sometimes on choppy road surfaces, I swear the rear bottoms out with only me in the car. And with 2 people in the back seat, the ride is downright bouncy. With 113K miles on the original shocks, my old Maxima handled the rough stuff better than my new I35!

Will better shocks solve my problem? If so, what would you recommend?

Thanks.

I imagine a better shock would help a lot with the bouncing. I have never changed out just the shocks, but I use the Tokico Illumina struts with my Eibach springs and they are amaizing.

Even with the stiff springs the Illuminas do a great job of smoothing out the bumps AND giving me nice controled rebound... They never get bouncy and this is on the stiffest seting (5).

I think adding the illuminas would make for an amaizingly controled, smooth ride with the stock springs.

Anybody done just this?

Are the Monroe's a quickfix until I can find quality money ?!? I think the front ones are in bad shape and if they come for less than $100 installed, I'd want to get this quick-fix. Any opinions ?!?

Construction goin on nearby my home and I guess they suspended the construction thru winter and will resume in April. So new roads might be here after summer.

I think that if you can replace your shocks for $100 that would be a good deal. Labor alone on my suspension swap was $100.
