Body work?

Ok so I have had two minor collisions with inanimate objects recently. One resulting in denting my passanger side quarter panel pretty good and the second in denting my drivers door decently. I decided to take it upon myself to fix these problems by myself. I know the basics of body work and I have a Haynes manual. I am just wondering if there are any tricks and/or secrets to doing body work and matching the paint so people can't tell that you painted it.

Here's the trick. Go to a local community college and take a course in autobody, then spend a few years working at an auto body repair shop.
