Yes, you can adjust the ride height with coilovers, so if you want to raise the car in the winter that is not a problem. Springs are set, you can't adjust the ride height. Coilovers are more expensive but the Tein Basic Coilovers are not bad at around $800. A Tein Spring/Tockico Illumina combo will set you back $550-$600. Personally I have lowering springs and my next mod is probably the Tein Basic coilovers.

Lowering springs and struts will NOT make your car handle like a G35. Have you really driven a G35?
Also, the tein basics are set conservatively and the ride is supposed to be good. Coilovers allow more suspension travel than springs/struts and that is why you can get a nice ride with a stiffer spring rate.

Yeah, I thought my car handled pretty well until I got a chance to drive a G35 loaner around for a weekend. The RWD and near-perfect weight distribution make a huge difference, even in stock form. Also, the brakes have a ton of grip which I love. You can't really compare these cars though, we have entry level luxury cars while the G35, 4 door included, is a great sports car.

If you go with coilovers, it is easy to messup handling balance unless you set everything just right. I would go with Tein H-Techs for year-round and be done with it. Drop the saved cash on Tokico Illuminas struts. $600 or less for the whole setup and you will thank yourself every day.

What springs are you going to use with the AGXs? They hve an equal effect on harshness...

Hey Pat, since I got an automatic will the .4" differential from F to R on the H-Techs make my car sit TOO raked? Also, how would you compare the Intrax springs to the H-Techs? I know H-Techs are supposedly softer, but are Intrax THAT much stiffer/firmer or can you just notice let's say a "smidgen"?
Reason I ask is because I was originally plannin on gettin H-techs & 19's, but since then I've seen two I30's on 245/35/20 both with Intrax (but AGX struts) and the whole look/drop was perfect. Not 4X4 at all, and suited the I30 body design & look way better than 20's on a Max.

THe intrax were too tight for me, plain and simple. The difference was noticable, even on the same struts, rims, and tires. Did you read my whole write-up on them from back in Oct or Nov? If not, I can link to it later- let me know if you need it.
Also, the rake will NOT be noticable. Look at my cardomain page and see whether you think that you would notice the .4" difference in a BAD way. I don't think that you will. I think H-Techs or H&R are the only way to go on big rims like that IF you live in an area with any road imperfections.
