2001 I30 with P0420 DTC
I have a P0420 DTC (Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1). Is this most likely the O2 sensor or something of a greater problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I actually had the same issue just two weeks. I went to Autozone to get the code pulled (they do that for free) and they cleared the code while I was there. It has not yet re-illuminated.
If you look at the Fifth Gen. stickies, there's a thread entitled "GOT Check Engine Light?!? WHAT should you do?". Click that thread and you'll find a link to some FAQs. This specific code is covered in there somewhere. I don't remember where exactly, but some searching will show it.
What is said is that this code is the result of tolerances in the ECU that are set too close. Typical corrective action is taking it to the dealer so they can re-flash the ECU. It is a thirty-minute job and should cost nothing because there a TSB issued for this and it deals with a component of the emissions system, which is covered under warranty until 8/80,000.
