Would this remote FOB work with my car?

It says its from a Q45. The number on the back is FCC ID KBRASZU07. Could I use this on my 98 I30t?

Did the I30(96-99) ever come with the 4 button remote that had the different colors? Or is it the same black remote as the Maxima?

No, just get one off ebay for either the same gen I30 or Maxima. They are usually $25 shipped.

So, the one with the different colors(red for the panic button, grey for lock and unlock, black for trunk) is just for the Q45? I wanted it because the icons look like they are molded into the buttons, and would'nt wear away like mine has. Thanks for the help.

It looks exactly the same as my I30 remote (98) except with colored buttons instead of black and grey...

Just got the remote today and tried programming it. No good. This is what I get for doubting other .orgers.

I've ordered one and snapped it and my original remote open, put my original remote circuits into it's case, looks better than the old gray/black unit...

Were there any problems with the swap? I ask because the battery covers are in different places. The grey/black one is below the FCC numbers and the color one is above. The batteries look like they are in different places.

I'll try to get some up, if you don't really do well with electronics, it's easy to mess it up

Well, I've decided my original modifications are just too annoying for most people, and my remote doesn't always function properly, so I've come up with a much easier way of doing this, but I would recommend a broken Q45 remote as it's cheaper... pop open both remotes and take the Q45 buttons and chrome keyring, the keyring fits right on with no modification, on the circular buttons you'll have to grind the top and bottom edges as well as the side edge that has the 'protrusion' or bump if you will, then grind a bit off the bottom edge of the Lock button, the flat, non grinded edges of the round buttons should keep them in place, you'll then have to put something into the hollow of the button as they are not as shallow as the stock buttons, i cut a thin rubber o-ring from a garden hose nozzle kit into peices and put a piece in each so they would contact and press the button contact normally, not too thick though or this won't work. Anyway, there's your instructions, makes the remote look better IMHO and the buttons are engraved, no printing to rub off over time.

Thanks. Gotta see if the guy will take it back first. If not, gonna follow your instructions and see what happens.

I30 Fob

I got mine for about $65 bucks from a site called:Keyless Ride. I checked back a few weeks ago and now the price is up to $135. It was refurbished however, but I never had any problems with it.
