A real nismo oil cap has a purpose and is not just a sticker on a regualr cap. A real one increases the boil temp for high HP applications.

Yeah thats for the Nismo radiator cap which increases coolant system pressure from 15 psi to 18.2 psi, thus increasing coolant bp. What he is talking about is the Nismo oil caps which are made from solid billet aluminum and are purely for looks.

I got the real deal on my car... solid billet aluminum. I also have the radiator cap as well. I got both for about 50% off from everythingnissan.com.\

Nismo fuel cap and 5 speed shift ***** will NOT work... regardless of what any dealer tells you, so dont ever order them....

How does the Nismo oil cap increase the boil temp?

The purpose of the Nismo radiator cap is to increase the presure of the system from 15 kpa/in to 18.3 kpa/in (not exactly sure on those figures) by increasing the pressure in the radiator system it increases the boil point of the coolant and keeps the overall operating temp of the engine cooler by allowing the coolant to more efficiently cool the system.

Edit: And before someone asks, the reason it's not stock equipment is that it lowers your engine's normal operating temperature which is not conducive to cleaner emissions.

I have it and has not lowered the normal operating temp of my engine... the needle is still always right in the middle of the gauge...

Our OEM temp gauge is far from accurate. As I recall there's quite a temperature variance in that middle region. An aftermarket temp gauge would probably better tell the tale.

I have not experienced that at all... even right after driving for a while I can easily take it off, eventhough it gets hotter than hell.

That particular one does but I know for a fact that the sivler, carbon fiber, and black metal ones with the 5 spd logo on them do not. I tried all 3 with a friend and they were all to big for the shift lever.

That's true!

This is wrong! It's the thermostat that controls engine temperature. If the thermostat opens at 190 degrees with your stock radiator cap, it will still do so with a Nismo cap. If you want to lower the operating temperature you need to put in a thermostat that open at a lower temperature.

Therefore this is also wrong:
