I noticed that the 00-01 I30's had a new appearance cover over the intake manifold and I was wondering if since it is the same VQ30DE if it would fit on our cars. Thanks,

The main difference between the 4th and 5th gen VQ30's is the variable intake manifold on the 00-01's. This is not an appearance thing it's a completely different manifold.

This is why the 00-01's are designated the VQ30DE-K

Not even the cover doesn't fit

swap to a 3.5l .. 2k2 motor.. / 6speed = ) then the coer will fit perfectly..

I like this idea the best, but there's no chance in the world of me affording that. Oh well, better luck in my next life.

heh well i figure instead of buying a new car when my tranny gives... and it will soon .... i do this.. it will be like i have awholle new car.. and get hte eclipse headunit.. and i will have all teh features of a newer car.. yay!
