So I used touch up spray paint on my bumper and left some paint residue on the fog lights housing, which is the glassy part. What type grit should I use to remove the paint without scratching the glass? 200? 400?

If it's really glass and not plastic, a new razor blade will work perfectly. Sanding will scratch glass & plastic, no matter the grit number.
If it's actually plastic, I would try a rag with a little gasoline on it first. Test a small area of the lens first to see if there are any negative effects and then it should do the trick.
