hey guys, i've been trying to figure this one out. It seems like my i30 has an alarm. it has a blinking security light, and has the lil sensor thing on top of my steering wheel. but when i bought the car i didn't get a keyless remote or alarm. can i just get an after market remote and just hook it up by coding it somehow?? i thought i30's came with keyless entry or an alarm

 

I got my I30 Certified and it came with the Infiniti keyless remote. My guess is that you'd need to get one from the dealer but maybe someone on here knows some tricks to make an aftermarket one work.

The car should also have an alarm from the factory which is the blinking security light. If it's blinking then it should be working.

 

when i got my car, it didn't come with a keyless entry remote either (the dealership i bought it from said they lost it).
they told me to come back a week later and they'd give me a replacement for free (the keyless remote has the infiniti logo on it; i was relieved, i thought i'd get some generic keyless remote).

The I30 is the same as the max.
You only need a 96-99 Nissan or Infiniti remote and you can program it to your car. Also the instructions to program the remote is online.

 

Just buy remote for 1995-99 Maxima or 96-99 i30 from Ebay and program it.
That's what I did. Takes 2 minutes.
