How do I know if I have the sport package or not?
I am in the process of buying an 02 I35. The dealership I am buying it from labeled it as a sport package, which looks true. It has the rear spoiler and the different rims that come with the sport package but on the test drive I became a little suspicious. I turned TCS off and floored it and it immediatly started squeling a ton. From what I have read the sport package has an LSD, and VCD. AND VLCD or something like that. now if this car has an LSD I have a hard time believing it would smoke the tires like that if it were turning both of them. I couldent tell if one was squeling or 2 because once I nailed it from a stop and it didnt move an inch I knew it was just gonna keep peeling and I didnt want to destroy the guys tires. ANyway I heard that there is a vcd switch where traction control is on the regular models. I didnt see a VDC switch and I heard that the steering wheel and shift **** in the sport package are all leather where as in the base models they have wood on the steering wheel and shift ****. SO my question is what does the sport package include and how do I know if this car really has the full sport package or not?

Sport package models should have a leather steering wheel and leather shift ****. They'll also have side skirts in addition to 8-spoke wheels equipped with 225/50/17 tires. Sport package models also came equipped with VDC which should be where the TCS switch would be on base models. The car did not come equipped with any type of LSD.

From the 2002 Infiniti brochure:
"The Sport Package includes sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch sport wheels, P225/50R17 performance tires, Vehicle Dynamic Control and side sill spoilers. Optional on Sport Package-equipped I35s is the Chrome Wheel Package and a rear spoiler."
The problem is that the sport wheels and side sills were also optional on the regular models, so the only reliable way to tell you have the sport package is to look for the VDC button.
