Hoping one of you could help me out here. I'm toying with the idea of putting one of these in the maxima, and want to see exactly how it is set up on the I35. Would appreciate it if someone could post a few pics from the inside of the car, from through the back glass, and from inside the trunk of the assembly, just so I can get an idea of how much work it would be or whether it would be worthwhile at all.

Thanks in advance

there isnt really much to it.. well i mean its not as like integrated as u think.. its the read deck is all you need. i dont think it goes into the trunk.. the rear decl on teh i30/i35... are a bit raised becuase the motor and storage space in there... then teh switch has forward and reverse for motor.. which puts it up or down.. i think its an awesome function.. im gona put this into my 98.. hehe i may have found a i30 in a junk yard that i car tear up... anyhow good luck..

and keep this thread alive.. im interested in this as well.. well learn form eachother..

Not sure if these pics will help too much cuz they weren't taken to show off the sunshade... But you can see the motor and the mounting between the pics. The shade/motor are all one unit that just bolt in. You might even have the wiring already!

Hope this helps Irish...

BTW, you'll have to wait for pics through the window, cuz they are way too dark to take a pic through.

Thanks for the pics! Saves me the trouble of taking my own, and now I know how the rear deck looks.

Yeah, you have to remove a surprising amount of crap in order to see this.

Really? Crap, my deck has started to rattle, was going to do the dynamat myself....guess I'll pay the pros then.

Forget paying for it. It's really not that hard at all. Just a little time consuming.

BTW, I bet your rattle is coming form the seatbelt tensioners. Turn on the stereo, get in the trunk and put some pressure on the white, plastic cups that are hanging down from the rear shelf.

i put down Dynamat and put foam inside those little cups. Helped a lot, although I have recently started to rattle again.

why waste your time with this mod? I use the rear shade sometimes and dont notice any difference in how hot my car is when I get in. Its still hot as hell!

I'm thinking more for the future....we're thinking about having kids soon, and I will have the maxima for several more years....and this is much nicer than the stupid suction-cup sun shades. Just throwing out some ideas, really, for a rainy day.

Thanks for the pics!

Why would this be a waste of time? If he wants a shady backseat then it would be a great idea. The sunshade obviously doesn't keep the backseat icy cold, but it certainly blocks out a lot of light coming from that rear window.

kinda off topic...on cars with the sunshade on the rear doors, are any of the power operated? I've seen some you pull up/down, but on BMW, MB, etc. I can't believe that these aren't motorized.

I think that they're power on the higher end cars. But there's got to be an aftermarket spot that does them for reasonable prices I'm sure. I wonder if anyone knows of such a place.
