A33 Cefiro Grill and lights!

I own a 2000 Infiniti I30T and am interested in purchasing a taiwanese Cefiro Grill and rear lights

Here is a regular old 2000+ I30
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...p/Infiniti.JPG

Here is a 2002 Cefiro
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...rap/cefiro.jpg

an alternate A33 Cefiro grill
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...0crap/3440.jpg

Note the grill difference... the I30 grill seems to be thinner and more curved whereas the cefiro appears larger and thicker in the outer frame and the middle.

Heres the back lights of a 2000+ I30T
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...p/i30tback.jpg

Here is the back lights of a 2002 Cefiro
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...dsc00127-5.jpg

..a closer look at the rear lights
http://trolleve.com/public_doc/andre...111a34_1-1.jpg

will these rear lights fit an I30? I read somewhere that the rear section of the cefiro is a little longer than an I30.

Does anyone know where I can buy the A33 grill and rear lights? I've found them on ebay taiwan... but I cant read the language so ordering would be.... impossible, can anyone help?!

That 2002 vertical Grille looks amazing and those Tails are alot nicer. I also like the fact that the chrome strip over the License Plate doesn't stretch across the whole rear.

I like the second grill, but I still think the best grill for our cars is I35 grill. The tails for the cefiro are nice but IMO not worth the hassle. It's really not a stand out mod and it'd probably cost a ishtload getting them and getting them shipped here.

the I35 grill is cool and all but the cefiro grills just have a beefier shape to them...not to mention more personality then just slapping on a stock I35 grill, I'm really surprised there are no aftermarket grills in cefiro style for US

I say go with a I35 and chrome headlamps or the blackout'd lights depending on your color car. That'll stand out, but I'll be more than impressed if you go the route you're looking to go.

go with the I35 grill if you want a sporty look, go with the Cefiro grill if you want the luxury look.
did you try sending a message to the seller asking if they spoke english? even thought the words are in a different language the page setup is exactly the same as the US ebay. this is what i did when i bought mirrors of ebay in taiwan. but i warn you it takes forever for their banks to cash a US money order, so Paypal would be you're best bet.

there shouldn't be a fitment prob. my uncle has a cefiro overseas and from my own"inspection" of the lamps, they seem to be the same size.

Just a heads up on those Grilles that you are looking at:

<A33 Cefiro Grilles>
I have 4 of 'em here (two horizontal and two veritcal styles), but they won't fit without modification. If there are any A33's that's in NJ and wants to work with me, I can see what needed to be modified to fit 'em.

<A33 Cefiro Tailights>
I also have few sets (the I35 style) here in NJ, but they will NOT fit, unless you cut the bumper (or replace it with Cefiro bumper), the two middle trunk tail-lights won't fit unless you either cut it or replace the license plate bracket (the whole piece in between the two center tail-lights). Btw, they are NOT LED's.

Email me if you have any further questions.

SY
sycefiro@yahoo.com

PS. they headlight in the photo won't fit USDM I30/I35 neither, unless you get that bumper.

wow... that pretty much crushed my cefiro dreams.

...I can just hope someone will modify, or copy these cefiro style grills and lights without having to change/cut any pieces of the bumpers....the I35 grill is pretty much our only choice for another grill..... that stinks.

I really like the front, but I don't know about the back-- just a little too different for my tastes, though I think perhaps the I35 grill might look better, like someone mentioned above, too.

Hey sycefiro - There is a guy on ebay selling cleared 2000-2001 JDM cleared headlamps for the I30. He said they are direct fit but, after talking to kingofsorrow he said they were not because of our HID balasts and housing.

Do you know if the JDM market ever had HIDs bi-Xenons for the cefiro? I am trying to get a hold of some I35 headlamps or I30t headlamps with the Bi-Xenon setup so I can clear them out. I really do not want to mess with my stock headlamps, $$$$ to replace if I mess up something. People are selling the stock headlamps on ebay, and eventhough they are way cheaper than the dealer prices, I still do not want to pay 500-1000 for headlamps that I am just going chop up anyway.

Lee those are not JDM. they're amrican headlamps that he's cleared out. the Jdm lamps are much taller than the amreican counterpart. and non of the I's or Cefiro's are Bi-Xenon. they all have quad chamber lamps (SY would know more about this).

So is there a headlight other than the stock I35 one with HID that IS clear already? Or do we have to bake and clear it out ourselves?

Just bake them man. I was a bit scared at first, but it really is pretty easy. I've taken apart my headlights twice and even did the fogs recently. None of them have ever had any condensation problems and they look great!

Looks like we have to bake and clear (as you said). Or take a flat head screw driver and break the orange lense. Most of my friends just baked the lamps and unscrewed the orange lense and bake it back together. I am more worried about condensation and damage then the nice cleared look. our HIDs are azz-out expensive if you mess-up.

Yeah but for the HID equipped I35s one mistake or moisture with the HIDs housing and you will get a burnt out lens and $$$$ for replacing. My friend in a 02 max messed up on his and had to go through the whole process of buying a new bi-Xenon headlamp.

Don't quote me, I am researching that. I don't know Xenon or Bi-Xenon, what's the difference? I think bi-xenons sounds better though

Bi-xenon means that when we activate the highbeams, a little "cover" moves and allows our HIDs to shine out further as if regular highbeams were activated. Cars with such a feature i.e. BMW, MB...etc use their halogen highbeams only for flashing.

I was wrong, the headlamps are xenon. Newer infiniti models with the projector beams have Bi-Xenon lights.

--HID highbeams and low-beams.

A clip meaning picture or do you want a actual mpeg file of me at WOT and Idle?

I can do both, but you would have to wait until tomorrow for the mpeg. I have a max meet to go to tomorrow and I will bring the digi cam and take some exhaust clips and vids.

Actual video file please...I want to get headers soon, but am wary because I heard any headers + a Cattman catback = teh loudness. I was thinking of getting Cattman headers and Frankencar catback

hey guys, is this a stock I30 grill?

http://www.partstrain.com/products/G...ml?sku=I070103

There is no emblem on it though it looks like the exact I30 grill.

I've got some ideas to modify the stock I30 grill... though I've never done this kind of stuff before, I'm gonna be brainstorming over the weekend....doing anything would require cutting out the ugly verticle bars, but then smoothing out the cut edges might be the tricky part.

Ok, I've been studying the I30 grill and finally realize what makes it look so flimsy.

The bottom of the grill frame is way thinner than the top of the grill! This gives it seem out of balance to the eye. However the I35 grill Seems to be fairly evenly sized as well as the cefiro grills. I believe the old s class paradox grill also had a flimsy frame which is why it never sold too well. In order to modify an existing I30 grill, no matter what you do its going to look like crap because of that flimsy bottom portion of the frame....unless somehow you can bolt on or weld on a new bottom part of the frame. I've made a crappy little photoshop image for demonstration.

The standard I30 Grill with flimsy frame

My crappy photoshoped I30 grill with slightly stretched bottom frame

The standard I35 grill

Basically, if anyones going to try to create an aftermarket grill... they should aim for something that has the frame more along the lines of the I35 to avoid flimsyness.... can a person modify an I30 frame, yes... but without somehow customizing the frame its going to look weird no matter what.
