viper 791xv is pretty much the best one ,but it's going to cost about $600 installed for your car and you will be losing one of your keys. Also it only comes with one transmitter, so about $100 same pager transmitter with lcd screen or around 40 for the regular one.

I dont know what your talking about but the viper791xv is $200 and under all over the internet.
It cost me $400 installed with the extra modules for the window up/down option.
$200 for alarm
$200 install/xtra modules/options
why would you lose a key??

Directed Electronics AKA DEI, parent company of Orion, PPI, Clifford, Pyton, Viper, Valet, pretty much have a monopoly on the after-market alarm market. From my experience as a professional installer their products have proven themselves to be the most reliable in terms of usage. Awhile ago, DEI was involved in lawsuits concerning the sale of their products via online and non-authorized vendors. In order to maintain the lifetime warranty they provide, you must purchase and install the products by an authorizied dealer. Otherwise, in case issues arise regarding bad brains, etc. you will be SOL if you purchase it from a non-authorized dealer. Dealer's which are authorized must provide the sale price as art of total cost because it must also be installed by the dealer. So it all comes down to this: If you want to maintain a warranty and get a good product, choose DEI installed my an authorized dealer. To my knowledge, get it installed by a reputable dealer with a *good* installer. I know of a friend who got one instsalled by a local dealer, however, they do not over a lifetime warranty if you do not keep your receipt. Vendors such as Circuit City will keep your information on their system so in the event you lose your receipt, they may look it up.
Hope this makes sense as I've been studying all day and am relaxing with more then a few beers right now.

That would be due to a poor install job not the remote starter. All a remote start does is emulate the turning of the key in the cylinder. Aside from a poor install there is no way a remote starter could damage a vehicle.
