You know that black vinyl on the door pillars, how can I change mine and where to get it?

 

You have a few different options. You can order adhesive carbon fiber, chrome or aluminum pillars. You can also do what some folks in the 5th gen forum have been doing - heating up the black vinyl on the pillars and pulling it off the reveal the body color paint.

Do some searches (google included) to find the replacement pillars. Keep in mind that "Maxima" should yield more results than "I30."

 

I like the CF pillars. I got them from another orger here so Im not sure where to get them.
I'd suggest going to a wood dash company and searching for maxima pillars.

 

I doubt that there's body paint under them, i can see bear metal through the holes. I'd rather replace it with same black vinyl, just new.
my car is Millennium Jade, carbon won't look nice.

Holes? There shouldn't be any holes. Perhaps you're talking about something else.

And I'd be highly skeptical if there wasn't paint beneath the vinyl - this is the thread that I was referencing from the 5th gen forum:

My car is millenium Jade as well... IMO it looks great. Dark like my tint, but not as boring as the flat black.

I can almost guarantee that there is paint under the black vinyl, but I also think the body colored pillars would look pretty stupid if you plant to tint in the future.

 

Scratches, holes, what's the difference? if you can see the pillar metal through vinyl it's a hole isn't it?

 

I was alluding to the fact that maybe you were talking about something else than what the rest of us know to be "pillars." Since the pillars we know don't have holes and do have paint behind them.
