I just ordered my 6,000K HID kit and was wondering how you guys installed it. From what I remember, the H3 bulb is covered by a gray cap. In the cap are the connectors for power and ground. From installing other HID kits, I know the ballast wiring goes into those connectors. However, once the ballast is wired up, and the bulb installed in the fog light housing, how do you put back on the cap due to thicking wiring from the ballast to the bulb itself? I mean I can leave the cap off, but that is asking for trouble as the bulb will be exposed to the outside. I don't have the kit in hand yet, so is there something I'm missing or don't know about how an H3 HID kit is wired together?

I think you have to drill a hole through the cap to put the wires through. Then seal up the hole around the wires with silicone.

I imagine there is a more detailed write-up in the 5th gen section.

I would make it so the connection to the bulb is behind the cap so you can still remove the cap without having to remove the bulb... If that makes any sense.

Ya, I know about drilling the hole thing as I've done it to my friends' cars. But, from what I remember, the bulb cap is in the shape of like a gas cap with that raised center and the connectors in the middle. So then I'll have to drill the hole on the side of the cap?

Sup man, that's a great up grade.

When i did mine i cut off piece of the housing to squeeze the wire.
I took a heated knife and melted the plastic and it worked.
