Speed Sensor

Just curious as to know where the vehicle speed sensor is on a 97 I30 and is it reachable without having to remove anything? pics would be great. Thanks in advance

It on the top of the differential. Here is a pic. Imagine this bolted up to your engine. The ensor sits where the black plug is and there is a blue arrow pointing at it.

can you get to this sensor without taking anything off?

bump... is that the harness for it in the picture? i know two of those wires are for reverse lights. just did a 5spd conversion on my a32 and cant see how fast im going now

You might be able to get at it with out taking off the intake, but it is MUCH simpler if you do.

The harness is for the revese light switch... It has noting to do with the speed sensor. The speed sensor hole is plugged up with a black plastic thing in the pictue. Why can't you tell how fast you are going? The auto speed sensor works in the 5spd. Did you use it?
