Just curious what other vehicles the 6-disc indash Bose player will work in besides an I35.

 

It will work in 2k-2k1 I30's, and i believe it is the same as the 6 disc found in the maximas

 

So, to put the I35 in-dash changer in a 2000 I30, is it a straight swap or are modifications necessary?

 

I have seen an 05 pathfinder 6 disk in a 97 I30 (Blackknight) he said it fit with small mod to bracket and acc wire I believe.

 

I want to know too - I hate my changer in the trunk.

 

Well, if the I35 in-dash player fits the Maxima, why doesn't the trim kit for a maxima fit in the I35?

Does anyone know for sure if my I35 6-disc player will fit in any other Nissan/Infiniti vehicles?

 

It will work with any Bose system, some trimming and bracket modification might be needed. Check 4th gen "350z radio in max" and I30 section there arer two recent threads on this with pics.

Alright.

6 disc in dash changer from I35 will fit in the A33 I30. Shouldn't be any modification necessary. If I remember correctly Ossamah has that unit in his A33 I30.

I don't know for sure, but am 99% confident that the head units between the 02+ Maxima and I35 (while functionally identical) are not dimensionally the same.

The I35 dash opening is slightly wider. Hence the reason the Maxima dash kit won't fit right in our cars. Translated backwards...the I35 headunit should theoretically be too wide to fit in the Maxima dash.

Again, I don't know for sure, and haven't done measurements, but the last time I was in a '02 Max the stereo looked narrower. Additionally, years ago when I was in posession of Maxima dash kits they were too narrow to fit the I35 dash.

 

Have you seen the A33 head unit? It's a V shaped unit that kinda contours to the shape of the dash.

I'm sure you could hack the sh*t out of it to make it fit in a double DIN opening, but it would be ugly and look REALLY out of place.

However, there are LOTS of other Nissans out there with double-din OEM head units (some bose) with CD changers built into them.

So, in summation, the I35 head unit would probably be a cheap and easy upgrade for A33 I30 owners, while A32 I30 owners would be best suited to find other Nissans with newer double-din head units.

 

I am one of those A32 I30 owners who looked to other Nissan HUs for my replacement. I am the one who installed a 2005 Pathfinder Bose in-dash 6CD/MP3 player. I guess if you could get a dash kit for a 2k-2k1 I30, you could do the same thing I did, and be quite happy with it I might add.
