would this fit on the VQ30 for the 2k+ I30s as well as it did for your VQ35?

Thanks kingofsorrow.

Where exactly was the COSMO POD filter positioned?

Apart from nicer sound, were there any power gains?

the filter was right behind the radiator fans. it had to be adjusted slightly to the right to keep the fans from hitting it. my friend jerry, who did the install said realistically i got maybe a 7 hpw increase.
check the link again, i've added a few more photos.

Hey kingofsorrow thanks again.

Did you actually notice any power gains in that order?

What about improved fuel efficiency?

Does the intake cone sit low enough so that there is a need for the water bypass component? If so where can i buy simply the bypass, i live in MD and weather of all sorts here...gotta get all the facts. Thanks

to tell you the truth i din't notice3 a change in the gas mileage, and only a slight increase in the car's take off. nothing to shake a stick at.

the Cosmo intake sits maybe 3-4 inches above the splash guard at the bottom off the car. if you have extreme weather conditions where you live you should get a bypass just to be safe. it would off course negate any horsepower increase(that's what i'm told), but better to be safe than sorry.
the only reason i got the intake was for the look and the sound, not for any performance gains.

The bypass valve will not have any effect on the gains givin by the intake.

It will do absolutely nothing untill there is enough vaccum to actually open the valve, like in the event you were to submerge your filter. Otherwise the valve stays closed and air is brought through your filter like normal.

Dyno proofs would be ideal but an expense I wouldn't expect h8menow to run one just for us!

I would settle for an honest assessment - gut feeling judgment.

I understand...I just hate it when someone installs an intake and hears the sound it makes and then assumes its yielding more power.

Placebo Effect FTL.

I installed a carbon fiber Cosmo intake on my car (non-Infiniti).
It looks and sounds great - who cares about horsepower.

in some areas, the rain can cause some flood effects, especially the back roads. It's not that bad, but i'd rather be safe than sorry. karim, Are you familiar with the area ?
