climate control question

my 97 i30t doesnt have an ambient air button like the 98-99 does..... if i picked up the climate control panel from one of those years would it be a direct fit? and would all the functions on the newer panel work???

While I am not sure, I would guess the answer is no. An AMB button is connected to an external sensor so that it can read the outside temp. Since you do not already have an AMB function on your climate control unit, you probably do not have an external sensor either.

It will fit but you have to splice the wires together as the connectors are not the same. This results in the fan settings only working on either setting 1 or four. Plus like stated above, you would still have to set up the ambient function.

I have the AC Controlls for both of the years you are talking about and I believe I have a picture of the back of each on on my cardomain page. Check it out if you think it will help. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/796084
