I've thought long and hard about converting to the I30 rear end just to run those LED tails, but my fiancee has threatened to kill me if I do so.

So, of course, I'll be anxious to see some pics.

I've actually been wanting to convert my rearend to the Cefiro with all red/clear tails. But I dont imagine shipping a Cefiro bumper from overseas would be too gentle on the bank account.

I guess I should just get some of these LED tails and be happy.

I just wished the LED taillight also had an installed LED signal light on it.

Yeah, but this way you won't have to deal with flasher irregularities that often crop up when using LED turn signals.

Not hard to solve, but sometimes requires some trial and error to find the right solution.

Would she notice if you didn't tell her? I dropped my I30 with H-Techs and my wife hasn't noticed... and she drove the car stock for five years. She has commented a couple times about how nice the car looks though.

Come to think of it, she drove the car one day last week and the Illuminas are set to 4/3 which is harsher than stock. She never even noticed.

Unfortunately, she is the type to think everything I do is hardly noticeable, but also the type to notice it when it changes

That's a bommer...when you say it didn't fit right...do you mean the taillight is loose in the housing? or was your problem just the connectors?

You dont have any pics of them installed do you? Or at least in place?

This kinda puts a damper on my plans too if they dont fit correctly in the slot.

That's mildly disappointing.

You think aftermarket companies would do better to speak to the people they're making a product for before making it and finding out what's important...i.e. FIT, before anything else.

Havent been on here for years, but I installed LED tail lights on my brothers 01 I30...Look good, it was not a plug and play install (electrical) but they look nice and fit perfect.

I would like to see some close up pics made at night and day... This would help me with the decision - to get or not to get the tail lights...
Thanks

Yeah, in light of the contrasting opinions I think pics from either side would help resolve some of the differences.

So much for these not fitting correctly... They look awesome!

Did you have to rewire the connectors?

Also, do you have any pics of the part that wraps around the side of the car? How is the gap/fit right there?

So i bought them from HERE. Eagle eyes is the brand and are made in Taiwan. I've seen other similar tails on Ebay for the I30 A33 named Altezza, but i think they are all the same... The inner lamps do not fit correctly, because some of the stud-hangers are too long... But it's not that hard to make them fit...

The light output is good enough. Probably it's same or even slightly better compared to the OEMs... Maybe i'll upgrade the existing LEDs for some more powerful...in the future, who knows...

The connectors for the outer lapms were plug & play. My car is a Euro model and came with a rear fog lamp..., so i had to rewire few things...

p.s. BTW, one of the outer tails isn't working correctly, so i'll have to "bake it" or so...
