Yellow fogs are the only way to go. And if you do decide on yellow fogs, the yellow capsules are the only way to go... Unless of course you opt for the 3000k HID mini bulbs.
I first tried PIAA's Ion Crystal yellows, and was dissapointed with both the color and the price. I installed the capsules and will never go back.
Next step... HID mini's in the capsules or if I could find some yellow mini projectors

You might want to try tinting the actualy lens of the fogs. Thats what I did. However, you sacrifice keeping the clear look. I don't know how they would look on a black car, they look great on my beige car, but w/e To each his own right?
This is what mine look like:
Those are all the good pictures I have. If you want to see what they look like during the day, check out the members Rides post for the i30 section, im on the last page.

The real question is what are you buying the lights for. There is the Yellow "Look" that everyone is going for, or the functionallity. Personally, yellow is yellow, no matter if you get the "Lexus" capsules or whatever. I personnally can careless on how "Lexus Yellow" my bulbs look like. I rather have functional fog lights, and if you are going to modify, rip apart, destroy your original fogs, then do it right and get HID 3000k kit. I tried capsules and seen them on other member cars and eventhought the "Yellow" is more pronounced they are not bright enough for serious weather conditions.
Then again, IMHO and $.02

I have to say that I do not like the yellow look. That is a look for Toyota/Lexus. I, myself, like the 8000K blueish HID Kit. When I get a list of things that I need to put projectors in the ebay R34 Headlaps and projectors for a custom Fog Kit, the 2 HID kits that I will need, will be installed.

8000k?>< Anything over 6000k will strain your eyes eventually. Unless you're just going for looks, 4100k - 5000k gives the best output. If you're just going for the blue, purple look, mind as well save your money and stick with those halogens=]
Also, I started to retrofit the capsules, but i ran into a bit of a problem. I took apart the foglight housing and now I'm not sure how i could fit the bulb shroud over the capsule. I've tried to do this based on the info from the 5th gen. maxima thread but their shroud seems to fit perfectly over the capsule or maybe I'm just doing this wrong. Does anyone happen to have a write up for the 00-04 I30/I35 because my foglight has just been lying all over the kitchen table, and my parents aren't quite too happy about it. Thanks for the help guys. Hope I'm not stealing this thread><

I bought some of the lexus projectors to put in my fogs, and I would some opinions. What do you guys think would be the best set-up overall:
1. Projectors w/ regular halogen bulbs
2. Projectors w/ HID bulbs (if so which temp should I get?)
3. Just sell projectors and get 3000K HIDs
Just looking for some advice here. Are the projectors a waste of time? If not, and I decide to get HIDs as well, should I get 3000K or would that look weird (since the light comes out yellow anyhow)?
Thanks for the help guys!

In my opinion, Lexus projectors would be awesome, but the time and brain power spent retrofitting them to work with your current fogs would overrule the awesomeness. (Unless you already know an easy way to accomplish this...?)
Of your options, Id suggest option #3. It would be the easiest and would require minimal modification of the existing fog housing. This way, you could also put in various other bulbs, too, such as 10000k bulbs
With HIDs in your fogs, you're not limited to color output you could even get yellow HID bulbs.
