98 I30 Tail Light Troubles...

Ok so i was informed by an undercover police officer the other night that my taillights were not working properly. The Brake, turn signal, Reverse lights as well as the high mount stop light all work. but when the headlights are turned on the tails dont illuminate.

I checked the fuse under the dash and it was fine. and ive been out of town for the past week so i havent checked anything else.

Any ideas?

check the bulbs first, then use a test light or multimeter to begin tracing the circuit backwards from the bulbs, assuming they have a ground........
