Cell phone switch?

I was looking up the replacement cost for the audio control buttons for my car at Infinitipartsusa.com, and the site also lists a cell phone button/switch as well. Can anyone tell me where this switch would be found on my car? I've never heard of it.

cellphone

It should be located on the steering wheel! I know for the fact that it's located by the stereo control keys on the steering wheel; however, that feature is extremely rare I've seen it only in the I35 brochure back when it was still in production.

Yeah that's what I figured, that it was a really rare option. I've seen references to the "Infiniti Communicator" option but never any pictures. Anyone have pictures of a car with this feature?

I don't know that it was actually ever introduced. The Q45 in 2002 supposedly had an option, and I think I read that some even had a cable or something in the center console for a cell phone connection (minus a required adapter that was never produced), and was even advertised in the brochures, but never made it to the car. Perhaps the same thing happened in the I35?

EDIT: Found a link to what I was talking about:

I found this info about the "Infiniti communicator" on a car review web site:

"A helpful feature is the new Infiniti Communicator, mounted in a custom roof console, which will connect to the Infiniti Response Center (IRC) for 24-hour assistance. Voice contact is made between the I30 occupant and IRC operator using state-of-the-art cellular phone technology and a Global Positioning System. Infiniti Communicator can be used for emergency purposes or merely for information about the surrounding area. In case of airbag deployment, the IRC is notified immediately and automatically."

Sounds like GM's OnStar or Mercedes' Tele-Aid...I know my car doesn't have this option and I've never seen one that does. Apparently the entire model lineup was supposed to offer it.

I think that the Cell phone can be controlled by the left side steering wheel switches, which also control the CD-Changer.., but i'm not sure.

That's not possible, because we have different clock and it won't fit the I30-35 models. There's is a chance if you replace that clock and the dash pocket as well...

BTW, i have all of those 3 pieces needed for the swap

LOL...where have you been? We've been using the Taiwanese market Cefiro dash kits for Double Dins...they also have the appropriate cutout at the top for the analog clocks that we have.
