1999 I30 Aftermarket NAVI question

Hey guys, i have a 99' i30 and was wondering if those double din head units (such as the 6.5" or 7" eclipse units) would fit into the opening.
I always thought that the opening was a double din, but when i typed my car into the crutchfield site, none of the double din head units popped up, and when i went to one that was double din, it said that it would not fit.
Is there someone who has tried this? I'm hoping that crutchfield is wrong, can someone please verify this for me?
I would appreciate any comments, thanks for help!

You know i had this exact same problem. So what i did is I put in a maxima the same year and it said it would fit (i got a pioneer d3). So i talked to some guys at circuit city and they said it would fit. Then i talked to some bestbuy guys and they said it wouldnt. But The pioneer did end up fitting just fine. I will take picture if youd like.
