ABS light

My ABS light has been turning on and off lately. I will park the car for the night and it will be off, but be on when I go out the next day. Then if it rains hard, it will go out. Anyone else have this problem?

You may have a faulty wheel sensor. Try getting the code(ABS) read @ AutoZone.

For clarification, is it the ABS or Brake light?

Thanks. I took it to my father's mechanic and he hooked it up to code reader, but said he could'nt get a code. I'm going to try Meineke or Sears next. It's the ABS light.

Perhaps their code reader doesn't not read ABS codes? My particular code reader does, but again, perhaps theirs does not. If you have free time, I would take a look at each of the wheel sensors and see if any of them show any visual damage.

I second that.

Brake light was blinking on and off randomly on another car of mine. Did a visual inspection and found that the mechanics hadn't put the sensor back when they installed new pads. They just zip tied it to part of the assembly. I guess they couldn't figure out how it went in. (I do everything myself now.)

What's even worse is that they even messed with it in the first place for a simple pad replacement...

Well it was a BMW and it had one of those sensors that detects how much brake pad you have left. The mechanics just couldn't figure out how it went back...the reason for this was that they didn't follow my directions and get the specific pads I told them to get to fit my car. They just got some generic aftermarket style pads that didn't work properly and allow for the sensor. I really don't trust anyone to work on my stuff any longer unless I'm hovering over them at the time. HAHA...its like...no don't put me under, I want to watch the doctor do surgery on me...I don't trust him.
