97 i30 axle
97 i30 axle
hey guys, im lookin to get some pointers on doing this tomorrow. i have to replace both driver and passenger ones. ive done axles on my civic back in the day, is it more or less the same? do these have an intermediatary shaft? i figured i get some info before i dive into this tomorrow. thanks!
Its pretty straight forward. The only thing that can cause a problem, is if the passenger side axle is rusted to the support bracket. You'll see what I mean when you get under there.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I would recommend taking it to a shop for the drivers side if you have a LSD. It went through hell with that axle and will never do it again in my life. The passenger side's half axle ended up being seized on the support bracket, so I had to take it out together, be careful.. the axle is heavy when you unbolt it so watch out for anything underneath, including your face. (like that run on sentence guys?). Anyhow, good luck... I hammered the support bracket off after applying some PB blaster and coated with anti-seize when I put it back into place.
