Rear-View Mirror upgrade

I am thinking of purchasing an 01 I30 rear-view mirror w/ compass to replace my 00 I30 rear-view mirror without compass. Will this be easy to replace?

i dunno much about these cars(the i-30s), but you may wanna find a decent enough power source near the mirror.
if you can't, you may have to remove or at least pull back the headliner to run a wire to the mirror, as well as the door pillar.
most of the pillars i have seen are only held in by one or two screws, or like my 91 max, just snap in.

that is, unless your new mirror is battery powered, but I do not think i have seen any battery powered ones... and if it were would you need to ask if it were dificult?

Do you have a pic of your curent mirror by chance? Does it look similar to one of these mirrors on the picture?

OK. I believe that your rear view mirror was same as mine - 00', so that means your current mounting plate holder is different than those from 01' and up... You have to get a new mirror incl. new plate holder. Let a windshield shop to remove your old one and then to install the new one... The worst part is that your window may crack during removing of the plate holder...

Some more pics of my old mirror and it's holder... Take a look if yours are the same!
