Hesitation Problem

Brief History: My service engine soon light had been on for quite awhile and finally noticed more frequent missing. The dealer said they could not pinpoint the problem because of different codes being read. Car basically ran fine. He said it would have to finally screw up and then the code could consistently be read. I know this is a common problem.

Anyway about 2 weeks ago since the missing was more prevelant, I got 2 coils replaced and the MAF sensor cleaned. It has been running much better overall. The otherday I noticed there was a hesitation or like a very very quick loss of power and the service engine light came on blinking 2-3 times and went out. Car has run fine since. Is there another problem that is about to surface? Anyone else had this experience?

Bring it to autozone to check the codes. Its free. O2 are not that hard to change an will improve your gas mileage. The coil can be test with an ohmmeter I believe , dont quote me I'm too lazy to go get the manual. When you get the code # check the 4gen stickes.

Well it sounds like the new coils should have taken care of the code for the coils (although there are more than 2 coils-but they don't all go bad-especially at one time). If the CEL came on and blinked a few times you should still be able to have them read (even if the light is not lit up now).

As it was suggested take it to autozone and have them read the codes for free to see what it could possibly be.

If your light blinks on and off that means that a/the cylinder(s) is misfiring. You may have another bad coil pack.

Well it started running on 5 cylinders briefly the other day for about a minute and then cleared up. I took it in and they moved the 2 coils that I purchased to two other cylinders to see if this will solve it. Process of elimination.
