I'm new in here since I drive a 4th gen maxima however I'm looking for some info.

My roomate just totaled his 5th gen maxima and recently picked up a 2002 I35, maybe 2003...not completely sure.

A problem area for the interior is the shift ****. The glossy clearcoat is peeling off the shift **** and it truly looks horrible.

What have you guys done to refinish your shiftknobs? Have you all switched them out with others? Also would it be possible to fit a Q45 M35 M45 Maxima shift *****? any other work?

Thanks in advance guys.

I have an 01 I30 my cars 7 years old and the shifter looks new. Maybe your friend or previous owner have something on their hand (gloves) thats causing this. I have no clue.

Yeah I assume the previous owner wore some rings....Can you swap ***** with a 2004 I35 into a 2003?

They have different shift *****. The I30's have the leather/plastic ones and the I35's have the simulated wood shifters.

I think you can find the replace parts from Ebay or Infiniti Dealer.

It happened to me, no rings or anything. It just breaks down over time.

Lots of aftermarket options out there
