Those with S Techs

What in the world do you guys do to help with ride quality. I bought my I30 for simply a daily driver. It is lowered with S techs and GR2's. I think the GR2's have roughly 25,000 miles on them according to the previous owner. You can feel every rock in the road and it is harsh. It is not a comfortable ride at all. What do you have as far as shocks? Is it possible that the GR2's are just worn out or is these springs really that terrible. I am debating on putting the stock springs back in. While I love the way the car looks it is a daily driver and I have the cobra for the cool ride if you know what I mean.

Trade me for your suspension and I will give you the wheels. So in other words you can have the S techs, GR2's, and the wheels for your suspension

Want to know what I did about the ride quality? I swapped the S-Techs and GR-2s back out with the stock suspension. There is NO way to make S-Techs comfortable, I don't care what anyone says. Zero suspension travel + ultra-soft spring rates = riding on the bumpstops forever.

I went from stock suspension to S-Techs/GR-2s back in like '03 or '04, when everyone in the 5th gen forum was doing it ["if all your friends jumped off a bridge..." yeah...]. That lasted about a month when I put everything back to stock.

Next was H-Techs/Illuminas, and now finally I have H&Rs in front, sport springs in rear, and Illuminas all around. I'm the most satisfied I've been in terms of suspension now.

Eibachs and H&Rs are a good choice of springs. I would still use Illuminas...I don't feel like the GR-2s are very good with anything other than stock springs.

gr-2 are ****ty shocks, i ride S tech/illuminas and feels good unless hit a speed bump or pot hole. I give up a little comfort for drop/stance and handling. If you want more comfort go with an H tein/ H&R.

I'm currently riding on s techs and gr2 struts. I'm on these struts simply because they were on the car when I bought it. I knew the ride would be terrible but I hated the wheel gap so I just threw the s techs on with the gr2s. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. The roads where I live though are pretty good though. I think the s techs give you the best looking drop out of all the springs available to us. I dont mind sacrificing a little ride quality for looks.

Just installed H&R's in the front like Meta, but i still have stock struts... switching the back struts to illuminas ASAP to reduce pogo effect from the rear SE suspension. I have the LTB and RSB installed as well. I couldnt imagine anything harsher for this car... GR2's suck after 10k on any car...
