I30T VLSD Working?
Hey I30 Peeps.
I'm checking out a 98 Infiniti I30T 5-Speed Later today and need to know if the VLSD is still in good working condition. Without having to pull out the axles and look through the axle holes during the test drive.
How can I tell if it's still working?
How can I tell if someone has swapped out the I30T VLSD Transmission?
I've read all the stickies and searched a crapload of threads. The "Jack the car up and spin the wheel" test has been argued so many times and the thread is always dead leaving no definite answer. The sticky on with the repair manual does say to put in neutral and it should spin the same way. However there are so many that says the other tire doesn't need to spin and that the manual is wrong.... WTH!?
The "Lay Rubber" test has been dispelled too many times w/ open diff burnouts.
