FINALLY replaced the long-gone I30t...

Well the poor I30t (may she RIP) was assaulted by an unlicensed 16-year-old back in December and I was finally paid a fair "totaled" amount nearly 100 days later (I think it was like 78 days or something like that before the insurance company got sick of me) and the wife and I have been searching for a replacement ever since...

Here we are nearly 6 months later and we have finally concluded that search. We looked at the TSX (too small) the 05+ TLs (too pricey), and even Accords and Scions (nice...but just not right).

We eventually narrowed it down to a G35 (either coupe or sedan) or a 350Z...

We ended up going with......

03 I35

Its about 2 model years older than I originally wanted, AND no navi but the wife fell in love with it instantly, the car has 45,000 miles, all records, all services on file at my local Infiniti dealer, AND we knew the finance manager from way back when!! We caught up and relived old times and he practically gave us the car!

All in all I'm happy with the purchase. great size, great style, decent power, and oil consumption thus far doesn't seem to be an issue! Plus my buddy gave me his employee pricing on a warranty...well guys I guess I'm back!!

" IF THE WIFE IS HAPPY...EVERYONE IS HAPPY!!! " HAHHAHA that is some very funny stuff.

BTW great looking car and looks good stock form too and i love that color..especially with those headlights and the amber in the turn signal the car look soo good when you look straight on.

That they are, lol... If you get the 04 sideskirts that helps a bit... Next step would be the front drop as the rear sits at a decent height.

Thanks for the compliments guys

Yeah the wheel gap is definitely 4x4 status compared to some of the nice drops ive seen on here

But...for now I plan on leaving this baby pretty much stock (except for tint) since its going to be the wife's daily driver and our long-trip cruise car....however, if/when the suspension does need replacement, I'll probably start working the "lets drop the car a little" angle

BTW speaking of tint, was there ever any resolution regarding tinting the sunroof glass? I seem to remember some saying it might crack from the heat....so I never did it to the I30t....

a tinted sunroof shouldn't be an issue. the factory tinted the sunroof on the 3rd gen max. most car companies tint them to begin with. nissan just cheaped out IMO by not doing it.

Im doing the sunroof tint so I can leave the sunroof vent open during the day and let the heat out W/O having the moon open.. Less dust/crap falling in the better.

Yeah...my Acura has a factory tint too...I was just wondering if Nissan had a reason for not tinting other than being cheap

But yeah I'm the same way...I like to have my sunroof tilted like 90% of the time to have some ventilation going on....but no tint on the sunroof kinda sucks with the SoCal sun just blazing in hahaha....

Congrats! My I35 is the same year/color config. Looks like you have the Infiniti emblem removed? Did it come like that or did you do it, and if you did do it, were there any holes? doesn't seem like it from the pictures, I have removed the I35 emblem but didnt want to touch the infiniti emblem on the trunk because i was scared they were going to leave ugly holes for me to fill.

LOL Come to think of it I never even noticed that it was missing till you pointed it out hahaha...

There are no holes or anything, and when I took the emblems off the I30t before the tow truck came to get her, the emblems were all just glued on and came off with a simple feeler gauge...
