blacked out the grill

i was bored yesterday and decided to black out my grill, sanded my grill down a bit with some 220 grit sandpaper to get some of the stubborn stuff off and to get it a bit rough, i got a can of flat black paint and had some clearcoat lying around thank god because that flat black look horrible against the car's finish, but after 2 coats of the clearcoat it looked really good. I kept the infiniti emblem chrome, it just popped right off of the grill. here are some pics sry they are at night i will get some others up

paint i used was rust-oleum high performance enamel, and dupli color acrylic laquer.

It's I'll bro. Now tint your windows.

That's funny though, the things you do when your bored. Today I removed the pinstripes the last owner had, cleared my corners, and waxed it twice. I wanted to paint my calipers but I couldn't find any paint around here.

Nice job! That pict in the parking lot makes it look like a BMW with those rims on it!

I'd like to do mine, but I've got issues with the inability to undo something if I dont like it. Painting is one of those things.

those foglights look sick. you should paint those black. or take them off when you're bored.

now that you have your grill blacked out all you need is a nice gold chain.

Assuming they aren't real hand painted & cleared pinstripes of course.
If you get left with some nasty residue after peeling them off- a claybar is the shiz.

Hairdryer then use tar and bug remover to get the residue off. Works best on a hot day

Yup, I'm pulling my front plate. Cool grill too, unfortunately it would not work on my car due to it's color.

Infiniti owners seem to get a lot done when they're bored. I love the look. Makes me want to try.

That looks pretty awesome man. I just got my first car ('96 I30) I hope that some day it'll look as good. I'm pretty ignorant with this stuff btw but what are HIDs?

HIDs are high intensity discharge headlights, they use an arc instead of a filament to produce light and have a bight bluish tint. They come stock on the I35 and 5.5 gen max not sure about the later gens.

This thread lives? or its just barely limping along. The paint on the grill finally started chipping so i might have to sand it down and re-do the grill

and to answer the question above here is the difference, No HIDS:

Projectors & HIDs the correct way to do it:

both cars are I30s btw:

hey crusher what what kind of wheels do you have on the car in your first post? I've been looking at wheels and so far I'm not really interested in too many.
