It is great to be able to have a dash kit made for our cars, but I gotta go off for a minute. After having my kit for a while now, I'm really disappointed in the fit.

I run a single din head unit so I have a very thin plastic strip above the head unit, but below the center vent panel. Over time this has warped and now just looks like crap. The kit actually fits worse than some of the others I've seen on here. I can't imagine there would be any difference from piece to piece though.

I may have to go midevil on it!

You just need that piece?

I got the metra kit (not installed yet) to fit my DD head unit. If the piece you're talking about is the one I don't need, I'll let it go for shipping cost

I just installed my Double DIN unit with the Metra Kit, and it fits like complete garbage. I t seems like it's meant for the i30 more than my i35, because the vents on our i35 are little different and our dash is similar but not exact. Is there any way to make it fit better?

ok so question i have 2001 infiniti i30 and an aftermarket stereo
and
jvc aresenal dvd player and i have a system, i get barely any volume especially as far as my system goes and it use to be superloud, is it because i dont have this pac Roemnis2?
i am using stock speakers stock bose amp for speakers and my system is one12" kicker l7 with mmats amp

so u were sayin aftermarket HU+stock speakers and bose amp = minimal sound unless
pac Roemnis2 is installed?
could that be my problem?
2001 i30 base

Also, you might want to buy steering wheel control module, that's what I replaced too

I used the scosche slc4 instead of the pac one due to cost. I would buy one of these despite whatever voltage the RCA outs have cuz mine had 4v and volume was still really low.

Axxess Awsc ( Steering wheel audio control)
Metra Kit (Off color but I can live with it)
Pioneer AVH-1400DVD

How did you get your Metra Kit to fit so well? Mine sticks out on the upper left corner.

HokeyGiant: The key is to use the parts that came with with the kit. The Pioneer stereo is held in place by 2 pieces that attach to the kit. And I used the plastic fastners that came on the side instead of the metal ones that were initially there. It was a perfect fit but the color does not match at all.

I know this thread is kind of old but I have a few questions I was hoping to get answered.

Has anyone purchased one of these kits recently? If so where did you find it?

Does it come in different colors? I have the beige interior however the radio surround does look to be a brownish color. I just want to make sure I get the right color for the best possible match.

I will most likely be installing a single DIN radio, does this dawn kit come with everything I'll need including the pocket to go under the stereo or will I have to buy that separately?

Were you guys able to get your steering wheel audio controls to work with the aftermarket stereo, if so how is that done?

This is the stereo I'll most likely be installing if that matters. I had used it another car for only 6 months & its been sitting in a drawer ever since so its practically new.

The Metra kit for the 2000 to 2004 i30 and i35 is still a current product. The Metra kit number is 99-7609G. Do a search on Google for Metra 99-7609G and find a place you want to order it from.

It comes with pieces for single DIN (bezel & pocket and it come with double din pieces. Read the instructions here:

Kit with stock navigation

Hey guys,

I'm looking into getting this kit but i have the single din audio/single din nav. I have a question for anyone who has already used this kit for their headunit... Does it look like it would be physically possible to cut off half of the front of the kit without making it useless? I'd like to keep the stock nav if possible, but the width would make it impossible to fit in without either sticking out or (ideally) trimming the faceplate of the kit.
Thanks!
