If I had to guess, I'd say the rarest 4th gen max/I30 would have to be a black on black 5 speed manual I30... Too bad the only one I've seen my entire life was rotting in a junkyard for no apparent reason... engine and tranny were gone, interior and exterior were good.... On the plus side I did snag the armrest out of it!

Nice find! It's kind of sad, but I actually had a dream the other night that I found a 5 speed 99 black on black I30 limited for sale. Just a dream though...

Ok, so I stumbled upon this thread and had to reply. I've been a quiet bystander on the forum for going on five years and this is my first post!

Is the black on black manual i30 really a rarity? Cuz that's what I'm drivin'... bone stock and I love it!

I've never seen one, ever (in one piece). I would imagine it doesn't get much rarer than that for a maxima/i30/i35.

The base model was available with a factory 5spd only in 96-97. Mine is a 99 black on black I30t w/factory 5spd. The "t" came standard with the 5spd and the automatic was optional.

the 99 its only a t model

so they made them but its only the t model

its a reasonably rare model to see any i30 that was factory manual theres really fewer of them than say um....daihatsu charade?
When was the last time you saw one of those? Theres enough i30 manuals that you might see a couple a year.

My girlfriends uncle has a 97 i30 manual same color as my car, I've seen a couple of them.

i love junkyards but at the same time feel like the rest of you. it saddens me to look around at all the cars that at one time or another, used to have an owner that cared for it and now, it just sits in a yard rotting away.
