Cause the light Output (Lumens) is minimum and sucks!!!! 4300-8000 is the range for most. I personally like my 8000K headlight/foglights combo and light output is awesome but would be even more intense if I"d done 6000K. Usually when I pull up to a stoplight with another HID hobbyist using 10000K,12000K,or 100,000K their light output is so poor I flood their lights pattern with my own output making their lights look like they're not even on!!!!! Here's a few pics of my setup! Remember the lower the numeric kelvin the higher the lumen, The higher the kelvin, the lower the lumen!!!!

Looks nice. Do you think 12k will be brighter than stock fogs?

I see, well, I could always replace the bulbs later.

Before I get the kit to my door,
I was wondering, how did you guys do the installation?
Did you keep the stock cap? did you had to cut something from the HID bulbs?

This kelvin for instance lays down good light coverage with good intensity and solid lighting, a very good lumen rating!!!!! Stay away from anything above 8000K it just looks cool and doesn't emit any intensity and don't let it rain cause you won't see anything on that wet ground cause it's too dim!

I have some 6000k bulbs but theyre h7. If your fogs have that little clip that hold the bulb in place, these would fit. Looking to sell for $16 shipped

Put the cap on. If not, you'll get moisture in the fog. You have to modify to fit the cap.

I make a lot of runs down I80 in PA and find 8k head/fog to work great on the unlit roads no need for brights

Are you two referring to the seal on the rear access cap.....If you are I drilled my rear cap with a uni-bit til my HID foglight bulb's seal fit perfectly! Here's some picture for some insight!

Thank you, off to go find some stock replacements. I hate driving at night due to poor visibility. Can someone spare some advice where to look to upgrade both headlights and fogs? Do I need projectors?

Would you recommend to take all fog light assembly out?

Yup, under the front of the car is plastic splash guards. Remove those and you will see the back of the fog housing. I believe there is one screw holding the fog light assembly in place. (10 mm?) Once you remove this, the whole assembly will be able to be removed from the front of the bumper.

for people with hid fogs, where did you mount the ballast? i extended my wires up and tucked the ballasts in behind the headlights. im just wondering other places you put it.

i also agree with the 8k ftw....i have that in my headlights, and 6k in the fogs. 12k is gonne be super purple. ew.

oh, and i also use those xentec kits off ebay. $33 and they work just as well as anything else.

I don't know how you guys did it, but I H3 bulbs did not work for me. They are too long. The only way to make them fit is remove the reflector inside the fog assembly, but I think the lighting might not be as good if you remove the reflector. So I will have to order H3S bulbs, and it won't be violet I think I'll get 3000k yellow

Really!?! Mine fit just fine with the reflector in it. Even though I removed mine. ( personal preference)
