Taped it all off, black spray paint, and about 5 coats of clear. Theyre not on the car anymore. Theyve been sitting in my garage since I got the 98-99 tails.

This is probably the best pic I have of the rear with the painted 96-97 tails.

I did this the first week I had the car. Opened up the tails, removed the reflectors, made my own, and smoked them.

Light still shined through.

Nope. Ditched that whole trunk 3 years ago. The dealership screwed their nameplate onto the trunk and wouldve left holes if I removed it. I got lucky and found a spoilerless trunk lid at the junkyard with center tail for $50. I hate spoilers anyways.

Any dealer that screws it on should take $800 off the car for body damage. i passed on buying a car due to that crap.

thought about it but Im not a fan of the red panel in the first place which is why I was looking into the garnish. I might "JNCo" it out as ChrisMan said.

hey thanks man, i'm trying lol. i actually just sent you a msg.

update- i'm still waiting on the lights, idk wtf is going on. when i search the tracking number, it still says item just left customs, which occurred 8/2/2011. i contacted the seller and he said to wait another day. this is the last time i bought something from over seas.

anywho, i might just stick on the center garnish for ****s and giggles since i really have nothing else to do today.

still trying to figure that out lol. im probably going to look for a cefiro rear bumper. the maxima of the month title holder has the same lights and he stuck an infiniti plate in the top spot and kept his license plate where it normally sits.
