headlight problem

my driver side headlight keeps going on and off....so i changed the bulb. still doing it. it only shuts off on bumps or if i hit the headlight. standing idle itll stay on no problem. i flick the lights off then on, and it goes back on right away. this doesnt sound like the ballast to me. anyone have any ideas?

i finally i got a day off to check this headlight out. i took the light off, double checked every connection. checked the ballast. put electrical tape around one wire inside of the light just to be sure. its still doing it. the fuses are fine. what else could it be? i cant think it would be a bad ballast if everytime i hit a bump it goes off and comes right back on when i flick the switch.
