Its taken a while to find one in good shape. This one was originally grey leather wrapped. Dyed it black. There are some differences in the 99 wheels with how they line up with the air bag. Look close and you can see its not smooth.

A member on here (Sycefiro) was able to get dash pieces from an Asian market Nissan Maxima that shares the same dashboard design as the I30/I35. It is an OEM piece, so it has the woodgrain and its perfectly made to fit the dashboard in the car. I was able to get one of his last ones for the I30. So that way, those who want to replace the factory radio with an aftermarket, but don't want to use the Metra dash kit (in my case, color is off and it has gaps in between the kit and the dash). Here is what it looks like just as the piece, since I don't have it in my car yet

Just got the radio installed today with the new dash piece. Will have to take better pics since I just took this real quick to send to a friend. And the rainy weather this morning in NJ didn't help anything today either

The wood looks pretty much the same to my eye. It isn't directly next to any other wood so you can't really have a side-by-side comparison. I do notice how the plastic is a slightly different shade, but that doesn't really bother me. Maybe one day I'll find a wood kit that has the trim sticker that goes over the climate controls which will make it all looks seamless

I got it from a member on here whose screen name is 'Sycefiro'. AFAIK he had one piece left after I ordered mine, so I don't know if laststop has already snagged it.

Yeah I think I got the last one (for now at least?).

Mike did you use the metra kit to mount your stereo?

No, I didn't. The metra kit uses flimsy plastic pieces to mount the radio, climate controls, and ashtray to. Instead, you use the metal brackets that come stock on the car. Once you mount everything to those brackets and mount it in the car, you have to get a Metra bezel to go around the radio to eliminate any blank spaces between the radio and the opening and the piece. The part number for that is 95-7417. Then there were little plastic bits on the vents that come with Syce's that had to get dremmeled off to get it to fit in.

You did get the last piece I had in stock.
I will try to source more if there are demand, however, they no longer produce these, so might be a while before I get some.

Email to SYCEFIRO@yahoo.com if anyone needs to get hold of me

Thanks

Sorry if I am kinda flooding this thread by myself (will make my own progress thread in another section of the forum soon), but since it was nice enough today to wash my car, thought I'd put some 'real' shots of my car after a typical wash (which today consisted of Meguiars Gold Class wash, Meguiars Hot Rims wheel/tire cleaner, Meguiars NXT generation tire shine, Meguiars quick detail over the entire car, Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner, Eagle One 50/50 on the windows, scrubbing my all-weather mats, and a vacuum.) Still have to get my spoiler put on (sitting in my garage as OEM black, so it will have to get painted Aspen White Pearl to match my car). Then a trans fluid change will be done probably in two weeks. Will also have to get some pictures of my LED interior, but I'll put those pics in the aforementioned progress thread. Geez, seems like I've done more to the car in the past year I've owned it than the previous owner did (currently sits with ~36k miles, yes on a 2000). But enough typing, here's the car

And again, here is my new head unit installed with the kit from Sycefiro. Cool thing with the new Pioneer models is that you can change the splash screen (what flashes when the radio turns on). So I rightfully changed mine to something I edited in Photoshop

Thanks man. And I actually fell into some good luck yesterday. My dad had to go jump start his friend and then follow him home. When they got to his house, he ended up having a 2000 i30t in the same color as mine in his driveway. So he gave my dad OEM color-matched splash guards and a sunroof wind deflector for nothing. Can't wait to get those put on

I got it at the junkyard from a 99 i30 Limited. Found another one last weekend but the leather was worn a bit.

My buddy installed them for me. Its actually easy the only timely part its adjusting them to your ride height. Luckly my fronts were had loctite on the bolts before so installation was a breeze. If your bolts are siezed or old them you'll most likely want to take it to a shop to get the work done, also buy extra bolts just in case

Hmmm your car looks stellar at the current height, but how is the ride? My car is lowered 1.5" in the front and 1.3" in the back and it's a bit rough. However that's also because there are terrible roads in my area.

The ride is actually great! I have them set 15 from hard and I love it, I don't bottom out, highway crusing is a breeze, city driving is great ( just have to pay attention and avoid sewers, and pop holes )

Yea lol. Right now I'm tucking a bit of tire, soon I'll be tucking half of a 40 series 18" tire, and that's not even low compared to other I30 owners ie Essential lol

looks good, IMO ii think the front looks good (height wise) and if you just lower the rear a bit it'll look perfect. i like how the 2nd gen i30/i35's can look sporty and have the luxury look at the same time
