Weird car problem on start up
Well, I haven't used my car for over two weeks and decided to start it. The engine was cranking for about 3-4 minutes with no start, then it made some thumbing noise and battery got weak by that time.
I jump started the car, same problem, waited a minute, jump started and engine finally turned on.
So what do you think was the problem? It wasn't bad battery as I was able to crank it for 3-4 minutes and probably could of longer.
It seems like fuel was not getting where it was supposed to immediately. Do you think there is something I should be worried about? May be something about to go bad?
No codes, no engine light.
After I waited idle about 5 minutes, I was able to start it again with no issues.

most mornings my I30 doesnt start the first time I try to start it. the second time it always starts. I was told on a different forum that its probably caused by a leaking fuel pump, which allows the fuel pressure to drop, which is very common on these cars. He suggested to leave the key in the ON position for 10-15 seconds to build up pressure. Perahaps you had a more severe case of this.
