2000-2001 I30 Window Maintenance
hello, i am a complete newbie here on the forum as they say, however i have been coming here for the great information about our cars since i first got my 2000 I30 a year ago. Since the first day i got her, the power windows all worked but they would go up and down very slow and on the middle of their way they would tilt to the side and stop there, so i would have to play with it and make them go up. Yesterday i decided to take off each panel in order to see what could be causing this and it could be described with just one word, DIRT, while i was in there i took some pictures to show here in the forum because it might be of some help to other members. I would try to do a little step by step write up, it is my first post so please excuse any error that i might have.
1-) Remove the door panel, (i followed the following instructions from NISSANHELP)
http://nissanhelp.com/diy/maxima/pro..._procedure.php
2-) Remove the plastic cover on the inside of the door in order to see all the guides of the window that would look like this.

3-) Now connect the window switch back and put the window down untill you see the plastic guide attached to the glass on the metal guide as in the following picture.

4-) Now grab a n oil can, i put 20W 50 oil inside of it since is one of thickest oils that i had laying around.

5-) Lubricate the guides that i showed on step 2 and the plastic guide that i showed on step 3. After this the window should be going up and down smooth and fast with no problem, at least for me it made a huge difference.
6-)If you put too much oil be aware that it will come off the bottom of the door like it happened to me, just leave the door opened and let it drip until it finishes.

7-) For those who also had problems with the auto feature in the front windows i found and used the reset procedure on NISSANHELP

The images have a link to my photo bucket account and are all active links. I hope that my first write up helps someone out there if theres any addition or errors please let me know.
