Ordered all new parts for my I30T

So I bought this car in August and have been waiting for my tax return so I can spend it all on my car. Here is a list of items I am replacing:

Rear and mid cats
Front and rear struts/shocks
sway bar links
wheel bearings and hubs
cv joints
tie rods
foglight housings

My limited slip is shot, suspension is toast so I figured while I am there I will do everything else. The engine is good but the car has been neglected so all new parts will make her purr again. Right now its like riding a bucking bronco and sounds like a chopper. Stoked on getting everything installed. Monday is the day install will begin. I will snap some photos and post as I get closer. I still have some cash left so if you can think of anything else let me know. Honestly I would like to get some wheels for it. something classy. Stay tuned.

Here's a picture from the thread where I bought my side skirts from. Love how these look (even though they are chrome vs. silver), but I have a feeling I'd ruin them with how many potholes are around NJ lately.

Mike, you really don't have to worry about potholes. I've smacked some pretty good ones in the last 4 years I've been rolling the 18" G35C wheels. Still haven't split a tire, or bent a wheel

OP - You should put your tax return into some stocks. Sinking all the money into a 10+ year old car isn't a good investment..

Joe - it's called maintenance. Which IS a good investment.

That's why I opted for the 17in G35 Sedan rims, lol. North Jersey sucks right now

And I agree man. Lotta cash, yeah, but will pay off in the long run. I'm at 203k now on my '01, and I did the same thing when I bought mines at 122k, and this tax return shes being treated to quick struts and motor mounts all around... But I've never had a single major issue in the past 6 years, mean while my wife has went through 2 Honda's in that time Worth the cash...

Maintenance is a good investment. I do maintenance all year round. Big advocate! I'm at 134k ready for another 100k.

Just saying, don't blow the whole return on car parts for a 10 year old car....

Maintenance

The engine is solid and needs some love. I bought all new struts/springs all the way around so the car rides sexy now. Car is good and I own it so I will invest.

Dude, I blew like $2K revamping my '97 I30 with 135K last year, and it's worth it in the end. It's now got 150K, and I've done MAF, all o2 sensors, control arms (f mevotech), monroe struts, warpspeed Y pipe and cat, walker muffler and mid pipe, 4 falcon zieks, and much much more. Bottom line is that I got my baby for $2500, and now my 17 year old investment car runs better than cars 10 years her younger. Nissan / Infiniti VQ30 4 life...or 300K (whichever comes first...)

ok, front and rear struts installed. Big diff...wow. Didn't realize how bad the struts were. Next is exhaust from headers to cat. Then serpentine belt, power steering belt then motor mounts. Not in any particular order.....

If you have good solid car it is almost always more affordable and econimical to repair it rather than buy a new car. I'd be more willing to put money in a Japanese car than a Chrysler or or domestic car with higher mileage.

Here is what I have done in the last year:

New struts and springs all the way around
New tires
2 new motor mounts
1 new catalytic converter
new belts
new alternator

In the near future I will need new cv axles and the rear motor mount is busted.
My car has a rebuilt title. Back in 2000 when it has 138 miles on the odo it was flooded. I found the water line. It was about 2 in up on the door inside. For me, it is still worth it to keep it going.
