Infiniti i35 randomly not starting in park

Hello, I have a 2002 Infiniti I35. Sometimes randomly the car will not crank at all while it is in park. If I shift it down to neutral, it will crank right away. Electronics run fine when it happens, but the car will not crank at all. Any ideas of what this could be? Thanks!

It sounds like the park/neutral switch on the transmission.

look at page 105 - http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Infiniti/I35/2002/AT.pdf

page 10 bottom and page 12 - http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Infiniti/I35/2002/SC.pdf

If you are standing in front of the car looking at it, the park/neutral switch is on the lower right corner of the transmission (facing the front of the car towards the tire).
