Hello All;
I'm new here!!
Does anyone knows where i can DOWLOAD the "electronic schemetic' with Voltage Test Points....? 2000 Infiniti I30...
I had a Crank, No Satrt issue...after it overheated and shut off ) Ive replaced the 2 Cam Sensors, Tested the Coils & Plugs (I hear not to rely on the OHMS test)...
I am getting Fuel..BUT no Spark!...I;ve narrowed it down to a possibe FRIED ECM...I'd like to try and repair it first) I cannot afford to buy a new one )) 2nd option is the junkyard .) in case i have no loook repairing./..ANY ADVICE!?? Please, any leads would be really appreciated )
Thank you kindly Handy!!

The Nissan service manual does not have an actual schematic of the ECU, but it has a chart with pin numbers, signal names and voltages. See section EC starting on the bottom of page 144 with the connector layout.

Reason: fix typos
Hiya Blue;
SADLY i had cleared the codes before i could restart it again..inm hopes of getting a fresh diagnosis ..I hurt my shoulder bad..
so i took a break from it for like a month.. )
so based on a YES CRANK NO START...this is what i did::::
CHECKED FOR FUEL
1: I checked for fuel in the rail (pump had pressure just dont know how much since this model has NO SCHRADER valve..
2: I verified there was fuel with the chambers with my endoscope ,,,and smelled it on the plugs....
3: I pulled out the fuel pump outta the tank..disassembled cleaned and reassembled..checked and rechecked..including o-ring...
4: I tested the fuel injector plug signals with a test light...blinks intermitently...
BUT I STILL CANT TELL HOW MUCH PRESSURE <<<
CHECKED FOR SPARK
1: NONE on plugs
=========================
IGNITION COIL PLUG (from ECM)
12v CONSTANT > PIN 1 (right)
12v W/ IGNITION ON PIN 2 (middle)
BUT no signal on PIN 3 (left) while cranking )
==========================
>>>> I want to make sure \IM GETTING THE RIGHT VOLTAGE FROM the ECM ))
before i spend $ for oils )
2: I read that the IAC couldve burnt out and fried the ECM..heard it was a common thing with the i30 )
3: IAC PLUG (from ECM) Pins 1,3,4,6 = 0 >>> Pins 2 & 5 (12volts)
4: 6 PIN IAC (measures 23 ohms all around) > 1-2 > 2-3 > 4-5 > 5-6 TERMINALS
NOT SURE IF ECM IS BURNT WITH THESE READINGS ))
i was advised to make sure the ECM and IAC were good...cuz one of the 2 being bad cud shorten the other ))
5: I even pulled out the Fuel Pressure Regulator...dissassembled ..cleaned and put back...THE VACUUM hose going to it..shows no sign of FUEL leaks or VAP leak)
7: Replaced CRANK SENSOR
AFTER all this//im at a standstill...
not knowing what to check next ))
ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED ))
any ideas on what to do next ??
god bless ) H )
Thank you Dennis;
I am not getting spark at the IGN COIL or PLUGS...but im getting a 12 volt signal on PINS 1-2...no intermitent signal on PIN 3 (left)
i am also getting SIGNAL PULSE on the fuel injectors...teted with test light...cud hardly see it..cuz it was daytime sunny./..but blinking
I did have alot of issues witht he remote..it doesnt work )) Might i have to Bypass it ???
i am going to recheck the SPARK tonite....since i can see the test light better )))
any other ideas ??
god bless ))
BTW..thank you for the REAPIR MANUAL LINK downloading now ))

hi JS..no its not lit....
i reprogrammed my remote and was able to lock it )
it soudns like it wants to start..but doesnt ))
do you know what the IGN COIL PlUG pinout readings should be (ECM side)
in other words..what voltage shud be coming from the ECM to the igntion coils ()) it a 3 prong plug
Hi Dennis..
i checked the manual for ECM pinout voltages ...my only dilemma is that the values for the IGNITION coil 1-6 are only with ENGINE RUNNING..but
the car won't start...only way i can check is with IGNITION ON..not running....
any other advice..would be awesome..im gonng keep trying ))
thanks u so much )

Hey All;
After relentless determination i followed everyones advice...and I finally FOUND THE CONDENSER on my 2000 infiniti i30 >>>
I was taped around the harness...as per FSM...i cut it out and it was fried beyond belief (OHM READING was 0.00-OL)) ..
CONDensor plug signal and ground continuirty good _
Luckily i di not have to pull the ECM out...was fine backprobing with t-pins )) pinout good so far..next is to put in a NEW CONdENSOR
im posting pic....if it helps anyone locate the condenser....
thanks again..i will post an update soon )))
Handy!
FWIW, the car should start with that capacitor unplugged. If you tested the capacitor with an ohmmeter, you will not get an accurate indication. The meter has to have a capacitor testing feature.
On every ignition coil, pin 3 is a red wire that brings 12 volts to the coil from fuse # 58 (under the hood, label "IGN CONT1) via a set of contacts in the ecu relay.
On every ignition coil, pin 2 is a black wire that is chassis ground.
Pin 1 is a different color wire on each coil. It comes from the ECU and is the signal to fire the coil. This is a very short duration (milliseconds) that won't show on most voltmeters. I am not sure, but when the engine is not running (ignition switch on), this pin will measure less than a half volt.
