New 1999 Infiniti I30 owner need help

Hi,
I recently purchased this car and I love it so far! It has few small problem need to be addressed.
1.Fog light not working
I have a 99 I30 limited, however the fog lights are not working. I wanted to check the fuse box but I had a hard time opening it (engine bay passage side one) and didn't want to give up. Anyone would show me which fuse to check and how to open it?

2.hood strut not holding, I purchased the strut from Ebay, any instruction on how to install them?

3.When I try to open the hood, it didn't "pop" and I have to have someone to hold the button so that i can open the hood, How do I fix this?

4.I need two door actuator for both front driver and passenger side, I have a difficultly finding it, any suggestion?

5.Car jerk When I switch from D to Reserve and wise versa, the shop quoted me 1k to replace three engine mount. What's the average price to replace these?

Any recommendation of honest Nissan autoshop In Socal are greatly appreciated

Thank you so much

1. Fuses can be acessed by prying up on the tab and you can chech them from there. In order to get the Fogs out you undo the nut for the corner light above the fender liner at the bottom. This will allow you to access the fog lights and bulbs if they need to be changed.

2.its a 12 OR 13MM nut you undo at the bottom and top of the strut then they just pull off. Install is same as removal just make sure support the hood when doing this it is very heavy

3. Sounds like the hood cable is loose or worn out. I think you can tighten it by removing the pull release inside the car but I am not sure on that

4. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...actuator,13257
or check junk yards to save money

5. That is expensive but it is kinda difficult if you don't know how or don't have tools. Most of the cost is labor

Hello, thank you so much for the reply. I was able to fixed the fog lights!

Now, for the door actuator, when I use key to lock and unlock, the driver side I can hear a click, but non-responsive. If I manual lock the door pressing the button inside(or with key outside), all the doors will be locked(including the non-working front passager side). Do you think it's just something stuck inside the driver side actuator mechanism?
There is on clicking sound for front passager side, so I assume the actuator on this one definitely need to be replaced.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a similar issue on my car. Tl;dw the issue for me was the actual latch, not the lovk motor.
Also you can use 5th gen (00-03) door lock motors, they are way cheaper than the 4th gen units.

thank you for the video. I'm gonna try to work on it once I have the parts
I took the car to the shop and turned out 3 engine mount needs to be replaced. They quoted me $1600 for dealer part and $1000 for after market parts. I looked up online 3 mounts cost about $160....What's the average cost to replace the mounts? I'm located in Socal needs mechanic to help with me.

the side mounts aren't too bad , the front & rear are the ones that are really hard to get to. If you are technically savvy they shouldn't be too bad

You'll find a lot of parts for the Maxima will work in your I30, which, as mentioned, can be cheaper than buying from Infiniti.
There is also infnitipartsdeal.com Give them a try.
