Last year I spent $1300 to install the nissan FACTORY clutch (not the cheap knock-off the dealers are now selling), master cyl, slave, release bearing, pilot bearing, and several other parts including stainless clutch lines.

I do not want to put that much money into the car now again because I am getting ready to buy a new car soon.

The list of spare parts I will include goes on and on... along with the things that I have replaced and just can't remember at this time. I have a rear bumper in green that is perfect, along with an old trans from my old maxima in the garage you are free to take. Also will let you take boxes full of miscellaneous maxima parts.

Known Problem:
I have had a vibration/rattling noise for a few months im not sure how long because it isn't that loud but I know it has begun since the clutch and all that was done. It is present when the car is running in nuetral. When I push in the clutch, the sound goes away. Does this sound like an input shaft bearing/>?

Rear bumper has scuff on corner from someone hitting the corner when they pulled out of a parking spot behind me, I have a green rear bumper I will also include that was a spare from my other Maxima, so repainting it if desired will not be a problem.

The rear left taillight, one that is cracked in the corner I believe needs to be resealed. When floridas hurricane rains come it leaks alittle bit of water into the trunk. I have a trunk mat from a new maxima in there with a rubber bottom so I dont even notice cuz nothing gets wet, I have always kept my amps and subs back there without hesitation.

I have had this car for over 5 years but I think its unfortunately time to part with the max. The car is still running and shifting fine, just makes that noise when idling. I assure you that this is a great car, still get compliments all the time. Only thing that needs to be check out in my opinion is that bearing or whatever could be making that noise. Please see my car domain for pictures, I will get updated ones up there hopefully by saturday.

This is what the car looks like but I have done some things to it since then including NEW headlights, went back to the 17" rims rather than the 18" ones pictured. Added all the new exhaust components. Other than that there it is, shoot me some offers. I just have to get rid of it by December because I am going out of state for a trip and I need to get rid of it before then so I can stop paying insurance, when I get back I will buy a new car.

A FELLOW .ORG MEMBER TOLD ME THIS SYMPTOM IS AN INPUT SHAFT BEARING, I HAVE A MOTORCYCLE I USE FOR COMMUTING SO I AM NOT GOING TO DRIVE THE CAR FURTHER ANYMORE. IF SOMEONE BUYS THE CAR THEY MAY DRIVE THE CAR BUT I AM NOT GUARRANTEE'ING THAT IT WONT CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION, ALTHOUGH THE CAR IS CURRENTLY ABLE TO DRIVE. AND LET ME ADD THAT THIS:
THESE COMPONENTS ONLY HAVE 8,000 MILES ON THEM AND WERE ALL BOUGHT FROM A NISSAN DEALER:
CLUTCH DISK
CLUTCH COVER
CLUTCH FLYWHEEL
CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING
FLYWHEEL BOLTS
OIL RETAINER ASSMBLY
REAR MAIN GASKET
RELEASE FORK
PILOT BEARING
MASTER CYLINDER
SLAVE CYLINDER
AXLE SEALS
STAINLESS CLUTCH LINE (NOT OEM)

ALSO TO MENTION, both front CV axles have been replaced recently.
Because the transmission will be pulled, I am lowering my asking price to $2800. Someone who is willing to put a fresh transmission will be getting a car already rebuilt from the bottom up.
And as I said, the list of parts i have replaced will save you LOTS of $$ in the future by buying this car.

I have a buddy up in St. Augustine who is interested. I'm not sure of his schedule yet but maybe we could meet up and see the car sometime.

Car is going to Carmax Wednesday, if someone has cash please let me know by tomarrow... Looking for offers $2500!!!
Condition is I will be going out of town wednesday night so I must receive $500 down by then. I have the title in hand, I drove the car to Carmax and everything passed with green checkmarks so they will be getting the car on wednesday.

*** The headunit will be in the car however the speakers will be replaced with other BRAND NEW replacements, I have too much money in speakers to let these ones go... Going to Bestbuy tonite to pick them up. Everything will be professionally installed.

The problem with your tranny making a grinding type noise while in neutral is the input shaft bearing. Unless the transmission is disassembled and the bearing changed right away, you will damage your whole transmission and the only option left will be to change out all of your clutch, transmission and flywheel. I know, I've been through this same problem with my 98 5spd SE. Other than that, it is way too bad that I am buying a house right now, and therefore cannot buy your car.
