Lexington, Ky. 250,000 miles. Black exterior w/ charcoal grey cloth interior. This car was my daily driver until I jump-started it one too many times. I had a bad wiring harness going from the alternator to the main harness (exposed wire right off the plug into the alternator had corroded, battery wasn't charging), and was literally jumping the car to go pick up the alternator wiring when every gauge in the car went haywire. I turned it off, and it has forever since gone dark- no power to the acessories, no key chime, interior lights of any kind, nothing. I'm pretty sure I fried either the battery, something in the main fuse panel, or potentially something in the main wiring harness (not likely, probably a fuse or fried battery). I wound up buying a 2006 Spec-V shortly thereafter, and my plans of rehabbing the Maxima aren't likely to find funding soon, so I guess I'm gonna have to reluctantly part with it. The car has sat in my garage since it went dark, and the exterior is in decent shape (some small dings, paint chips, etc.). The car burned less than 1/4 quart of oil in between changes. I replaced a HUGE number of parts in the last 18 months I drove it (I was determined to drive it 500,000 miles), including:
-Both CV axles
-New Nissan factory clutch (components purchased seperately-not cheap "all-inclusive" clutch kit Nissan offers)
-New KYB GR2 struts a year before parking it
-Timing belt/water pump replacement 30k before parking
-Two new window regulators (Driver's door, back passenger door)
-Have a new Nissan window (passenger front I believe-bought it and wound up have to replace the motor on that side, never returned the regulator)regulator still in the bubble wrap
Excellant parts car for someone with a 3rd gen. VG Maxima, could easily be a run around car for someone with a little mechanical aptitiude.
