1992 SE TURBO FIND in KY.

This is not my car, I found this listing.

http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1256947814.html

If anyone is interested, I will go look at it and give you more details after I see the car. Seems interesting to me...

That would be a great project car. If I were a bit closer I'd buy that.

Yeah it's my car.

She is my car btw. I was thinking of posting in here but looks like someone beat me to it.

If anyone is interested I'll give you all the information (more than the previous owner gave me) I have on her condition.

How does it run overall? Do you have to pop the clutch to start it? I am interested, but I'd have to tow it down to Florida.

If you roll start it, it runs ok. it has two computers and the aftermarket one has a misfire at WOT and the factory computer runs rich. the exhaust from the downpipe back needs to be replaced and there are a few electrical gremlins including the bose radio (the radio its self works fine, but has the classic fading display)

I am confused on why you have to roll start it. Does it have to do with the computer?

for some odd reason the car doesn't start, we haven't figured out why. It sounds like the starter is not lining up with the flywheel. the starter has been replaced twice, the alternator has been replaced twice and there are several batteries in the trunk. it may be something simple, don't really know.

Whose car was that originally? I don't recognize it, so I don't suppose the previous owner/builder was a member of Maxima.org

When you say electrical gremlins do you mean electrical issues that the previous owner may have caused, or just common things like the Bose radio failing, the clock fading, seatbelt light, window regulators, etc?

And yes, sounds like a great project car and a great deal especially since the car itself looks to be in good shape. That'd be a good deal without the turbo

the original owner is MAXTUNED on this site purchased by 89blackSE and Minxchi. Electrical gremlins being starting issues and drivers side door lock doesn't always work and the the dash lights don't always work. along with the normal maxima electrical gremlins like the bose radio fading. I believe that the clock in this maxima is still working fine(lol). the windows regulators, power seats, moonroof all work perfectly. It would be an awesome project car if we had a garage and the loot...

SOLD

Today we sold the maxima to a tuner. Amazingly enough when he came over to take a look at her she started with no hesitation and ran with little to no problems. Its days like this that made us not want to sell her.

Good deal. I really wanted the car, but shipping was my issue. Good luck to whoever bought the car.

i am the one who bought the maxima. it had normall issues from it sitting for the last 2 years

i have fixed most the issues so far as the following

- the starter issue was that it would spin but not kick out, which was caused by the battery being moved to the trunk and the power wire being ran directly to the starter in a ghetto fashion. that and the down pipe not being heat rapped, it cooked the starter. all of which have been fixed since.

- the battery dieing issue was caused by the battery not having a good ground which has been fixed

- the miss at WOT was caused by some one running cheap *** auto light spark plugs gapped at any where form .37-.48.
The boost was actually blowing the spark out, the miss has since been fixed by changing the plugs with a good set of NGK plugs gapped at .35

- the exhaust is actually fine the down pipe on the other hand is ate up, there is a dime size hole in it. the down pipe flange was actually rusted off

-ps for some reason the down pipe/turbo piping was made from cheap piping so its is rusted to hell and back. it is all now being replaced with t-304 stainless steel piping

heres a few more pictures with the car and the new Gst wheels FTW!

sorry for the ****ty, cell phone pix.

Congrats on the ride.

That was real fast ironing most of the issues.

I'm curious to see some timeslips.

Cool deal!

on the auto light spark plugs, NGK or nothing for the VE

Also, never seen GST wheels on a 3rd gen, pretty cool. You have plans to put a lip or anything on there to make the i/c less "blunt"?

Come around the 3rd gen forum sometime, we don't have enough modded VE guys there anymore
